Reynolds Warns
- Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds warned Ofwat that the £10 billion rescue package would burden consumers and push Thames Water toward nationalisation.
- Creditors, led by the London & Valley Water consortium, offered £3.35 billion equity, up to £6.55 billion debt, and will write off about £9.4 billion for a four-year sewage-fine waiver.
- Reynolds said the plan would delay upgrades, weaken environmental protection, shift risk to taxpayers, and could trigger a Special Administration Regime if rejected.
