Historical Context

November 2013 the P5+1 and Iran signed the interim Geneva accord, freezing key enrichment steps and delivering about $7 billion in sanctions relief. That paved the way for the July 14 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which capped enrichment at 3.67%, limited centrifuges to 6,104 and lifted tens of billions in sanctions.
