India Secures EU Deal
- India will sign a free trade agreement with the European Union by the end of 2026.
- The pact will cover 96.6% of goods, cut wine tariffs from 150% to 75% (later 20%), and save €4 billion annually.
- It adds a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism for six sectors, raising Indian steel costs to $95 per $100 shipped.
- EU investment in India reached $117.4 billion from 2000 to September 2024, over 16.5% of total FDI.
