Researchers applied SKAT-O to rare deleterious variants in HMGCR and DNMT1 and found significant associations with psychiatric ICD-10 codes.
The associations replicated in 58,990 BioMe Biobank participants and overlapped with 200 bipolar, schizophrenia and rheumatoid-arthritis risk genes, showing shared pathways present in 29 autoimmune diseases.
