Dropout Unveils Second Season of Improvised Comedy Competition “Crowd Control”

Indie streaming platform Dropout confirmed that the second season of its improvisational comedy series “Crowd Control” will launch later this summer. The ten-episode season will feature 30 comedians competing in head-to-head crowdwork battles, with each episode pitting three performers against one another. No prewritten material is permitted; contestants must generate their sets on the spot from prompts and live audience interaction, and the studio audience ultimately selects the winner.

“Crowd Control” follows a strict improvisational format. Each episode’s trio receives a prompt from the host, then engages the audience to shape their routine. The absence of scripted jokes forces comedians to rely on spontaneous wit and crowd responsiveness. After the performances, the same audience votes to determine the episode’s champion, emphasizing real-time crowd engagement as the primary metric of success.
