French Animation House OuiDo! Launches Adult Horror Feature “Prudence” via New Joint Venture

At the Annecy International Animation Festival, Paris-based OuiDo! Productions announced a joint venture with veteran adult-animation producers Didier Creste and Joé Baudot. The new company, Everybody on Board, will develop and produce animated films and series aimed at adult audiences—a segment described as “relatively untapped” in France. Its inaugural project, the feature film Prudence, is billed as the first fully French-produced animated horror movie.

OuiDo! has built a portfolio of family-oriented titles such as *Alvinnn!!!*, *The Chipmunks* and *Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+*. Recognizing the rapid growth of adult animation, the studio is leveraging its 25-year production infrastructure to expand into more mature genres. Creste and Baudot have previously shaped France’s adult-animation scene with the feature *Mars Express* (acquired for North America by GKIDS) and two seasons of the cult series *Lastman*.

*Prudence* is an 80-minute, near-future horror feature. It follows commercial divers Ina and Claude as they join an underwater station situated 200 metres below the ocean’s surface. Their mission—to contain a catastrophic oil spill—spirals when the station’s doctor becomes infected by a highly contagious parasitic worm. The parasite removes inhibitions, feeding on endorphins and turning hosts into “emotional vampires.” The film’s horror premise is intended to showcase the creative possibilities of adult animation.
