Launch of Ireland’s EU Presidency
On 1 July 2026 Ireland opened its eighth EU Council Presidency with a ceremony at Dublin Castle. Taoiseach Micheál Martin welcomed President of the European Council António Costa and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky; EU and Ukrainian flags were raised.
