The film was announced in January. By February, Knoxville said roughly 80 % of the stunts were locked. Shooting required fewer days than previous entries, allowing a quick turnaround that led to a mid-June promotion. Tremaine described the schedule as “very crazy.”

Pontius noted the project reminded everyone how “important all these people are” after two decades of collaboration.
