Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper's “Ocean’s 11” Prequel Gains Momentum with Josh Gad Casting

Warner Bros. is preparing an untitled prequel to the modern “Ocean’s 11” franchise, set during the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix. The story follows Danny Ocean’s parents as they execute a high-stakes heist in their prime. Bradley Cooper writes, directs, produces and stars; Margot Robbie co-stars and produces via LuckyChap. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 25 June 2027.

Josh Gad Joins OCEAN’s Prequel Cast in Major Role

The ensemble now includes Josh Gad in a significant but undisclosed role, Oscar-nominee Wagner Moura as the primary antagonist, and Oscar-nominee Monica Barbaró in an unspecified part. Robbie and Cooper lead on-screen, with Cooper also serving as writer-director. Production partners are Tom Ackerley, Milan Popelka and Josey McNamara; executive producers list Josey McNamara, Bronte Payne, Bobby Wilhelm, Jay Roach, Michelle Graham, Lee Isaac Chung, Ashley Jay Sandberg, Gary Ross and Olivia Milch.
