Elon Musk’s UK Race and Immigration Posts Flood X Ahead of SpaceX IPO

Between 31 May and 12 June 2026, Elon Musk posted 303 times on X about race and immigration, most referencing UK politics. He posted 114 times about SpaceX, the aerospace and AI firm that listed on 12 June. On the eve of the float, Musk reposted far-right voices, including Restore Britain leader Rupert Lowe’s call to deport financially unsupported migrants, and commented on multiculturalism and the Henry Nowak murder case.

The flurry of posts coincided with heightened UK tension: Vickrum Digwa’s sentencing for Henry Nowak’s killing sparked anti-white policing claims, far-right protests clashed with police, and Belfast saw riots after a knife attack. SpaceX’s IPO raised $85.7 billion (£56 billion), exceeding its $75 billion target. In the 31-day window, 31 % of Musk’s tweets addressed UK race or immigration, versus under 7 % in the 2024 summer riots. At least 20 posts surpassed 10 million views. The Centre for Countering Digital Hate logged 240 calls for violence in replies to his Belfast-attack posts and estimated his amplification added 64 million views to far-right accounts.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Musk was “interfering in our politics… trying to whip up division,” stressing Britain’s tradition of reason and tolerance. The government condemned Musk’s appearance at a 2025 Unite the Kingdom rally, where he warned that “whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you.” Dr Michael Vaughan of the London School of Economics warned that Musk’s wealth and far-right ties create a “distortional presence in democratic politics,” granting fringe groups new legitimacy.
