SpaceX Joins Nasdaq-100
- Nasdaq applied its fast-track rule to add SpaceX to the Nasdaq-100 index on July 7 2026.
- The inclusion follows 15 trading days after SpaceX’s June 12 IPO.
- Index funds tracking the Nasdaq-100, including the Invesco QQQ ETF, must buy SpaceX shares, $4.3 billion of forced buying and $22 billion-$27 billion of passive inflows.
- Because its free-float is only 4-5 %, SpaceX’s Nasdaq-100 weighting will be below 1 % (?0.5-0.7 %), treating a $2.1 trillion market cap as a $300 billion company.
