Toyota Expands Texas
- Toyota announced a $3.6 billion expansion of its San Antonio, Texas plant, adding a second Tacoma line and expanding to 5 million sq ft.
- The expansion will move most Tacoma production from Tijuana, Mexico to Texas by 2030, create about 2,000 jobs and raise capacity by 150,000 units to 350,000 vehicles.
- Some Tacoma output will stay at Toyota’s Guanajuato, Mexico plant to avoid a 25% tariff after the U.S. halted USMCA renewal.
