OPEC+ Increases Output
- OPEC+ announced on July 5 it will raise output by 188,000 bpd in August.
- June and July cuts add up to about 800,000 bpd of increases since April.
- Output dropped to 33.13 million bpd in May from 42.77 million bpd in February, while Brent fell to $72 per barrel from over $120.
- The move follows the gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz after the June 17 cease-fire and sets the agenda for OPEC+ meeting on August 2.
