NATO Buys Tritons
- NATO announced July 7 2026 at Ankara summit that Denmark, Finland, Germany and Norway will purchase five MQ-4C Triton UAVs.
- The Tritons will augment the fleet at Sigonella, flying 24 hours at 15 km altitude.
- Each mission can cover up to 5.5 million km² and will carry the AN/ZPY-3 radar to boost detection and protect sea lines.
- Northrop Grumman will build the UAVs, with Airbus Defence and Space and partners supplying the ground system.
