Jude Law Leads Riff Raff’s Getaway-Driver Film, Signaling Company Scale-Up

At the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Riff Raff Entertainment announced a character-driven action film about a getaway driver traveling from point A to B to C amid obstacles. The script is by Oscar-nominated writer Zach Baylin, co-creator of Netflix’s “Black Rabbit,” with co-writer Kate Susman. Jude Law, Riff Raff co-founder, will star, his first pure action lead.

Founded in 2017 by Law and co-founder Ben Jackson, Riff Raff received a multi-million-dollar injection from Calculus Capital in 2022. Since then its slate expanded from 12 projects in 2022 to roughly 50 across development, production and post-production. The company runs with a core team of seven employees and plans to grow, positioning itself as a talent-led production hub.

The film reunites Riff Raff collaborators. Law stars and co-produces. Co-founder Ben Jackson and head of film & TV Katie Sinclair presented the project. Writer Zach Baylin, known for “The Order” (produced by Riff Raff, premiered at Venice 2024), co-writes with Kate Susman, co-creator of “Black Rabbit,” which also featured Law and Jason Bateman. Baylin is developing a new TV series with Riff Raff.

The movie is in script-finalization with no public release date. Riff Raff’s pipeline includes about 50 projects at various stages, supported by a seven-person core staff. Recent funding and slate growth enable larger-scale productions while preserving a character-focused approach, as leadership emphasizes.

Jackson called the premise “a very simple idea about a getaway driver who wants to get from A to B to C, and there’s a lot of things in his way,” underscoring its straightforward narrative. Sinclair said Law’s involvement “sets it apart from other movies in the genre” and showcases his range. Both noted Law’s active participation—Jackson described him as “very, very present” in meetings and script reviews, while Sinclair highlighted his extensive industry contacts as a strategic advantage for the talent-led company.
