Squad Announcement for Bangladesh T20I Series

Zimbabwe Cricket released a 15-player roster for the three-match Twenty-20 International (T20I) series against Bangladesh. The squad retains the core that reached the Super Eight stage of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and will be led by captain Sikandar Raza.

Retained Core from 2026 T20 World Cup

The selection keeps the majority of the side that competed at the recent World Cup, emphasizing continuity. Established players such as Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Brad Evans, Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, and the captain Sikandar Raza remain in the lineup.

New Additions and Notable Absences

The only newcomers are fast-bowler Newman Nyamhuri and batter Milton Shumba. Nyamhuri has yet to debut in T20Is, while Shumba returns to the format for the first time since the 2022 T20 World Cup. Ben Curran, who joined the World Cup squad earlier as an injury replacement, also retains his place and could make his T20I debut during the series.

Absent from the squad are Graeme Cremer, sidelined by a left-arm fracture, and veterans Brendan Taylor and Tony Munyonga, who were omitted from the selection.

Series Schedule and Venue

All three matches will be played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. The series commences on 15 July, following the conclusion of the ongoing One-Day International (ODI) series in Harare.

What’s Next

Zimbabwe will field the announced squad in the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, with the first match slated for 15 July at Queens Sports Club. Subsequent fixtures will follow on the scheduled dates, completing the three-match series.
