Britons Express Deep Concerns Over Diversity, Integration and Trust in Institutions

A recent poll by the More in Common polling firm of 4,094 British adults shows that 55 % believe the nation’s identity is eroding because of “artificial diversity” linked to a mass-migration agenda. The same survey found 42 % doubt Muslims can integrate into British society, a view held by 71 % of Reform UK supporters. Additionally, 31 % said non-white people could “never be as British” as the native white population, while 33 % favoured “remigration.” Trust in the social contract between institutions and the public was reported as broken by 61 % of respondents. Among younger adults, 29 % consider political violence acceptable, and 28 % would tolerate politicians breaking rules to achieve aims.

Former counter-extremism commissioner Sara Khan warned that the window to reverse the breakdown of trust is “vanishingly small” and urged the incoming prime minister to act before democratic values are shredded. Professor David Betz, Department of War Studies at King’s College London, warned Britain may already be past the tipping point for civil war, attributing the risk largely to imposed multiculturalism and political inertia.
