Two Young Children Hospitalized After Omaha Intersection Crash

Around 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, a collision occurred at the intersection of 114th Street and West Center Road in Omaha. A Subaru, carrying two children believed to be under 10 years old, turned into the path of a Chevrolet Malibu. Both children were restrained in the Subaru and were transported to a Nebraska children’s hospital with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in progress. The adult drivers of each vehicle sustained critical injuries and were also taken to the hospital.

Lt. Danny Flynn of the Omaha Police Department provided the initial details. He confirmed the turning maneuver by the Subaru driver and noted that the children were properly restrained. Flynn added that the investigation is in its early stages, with preliminary indications that speeding or alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
