Music Box Films Secures North American Home-Entertainment Rights to “Wisdom of Happiness”

Music Box Films announced that it has acquired the North American home-entertainment rights to *“Wisdom of Happiness,”* a documentary executive-produced by Richard Gere and Oren Moverman. The film will debut on premium digital video-on-demand platforms across the United States and Canada on September 15, 2026, with pre-orders now available. Physical releases on DVD and Blu-ray are slated for a later date. The deal was negotiated by Brian Andreotti of Music Box Films and Jason Resnick of Autlook on behalf of the filmmakers.

Directed by Barbara Miller and Philip Delaquis, the documentary premiered at the Zurich Film Festival in 2024. It subsequently achieved notable box-office performance in Switzerland, remaining in the country’s top 10 for seven consecutive weeks. In 2025, Abramorama released the film theatrically at more than 175 locations throughout North America.

Directors Barbara Miller, an award-winning Swiss documentary filmmaker and president of the Swiss Directors Guild and Screenwriters Association since 2017, and Philip Delaquis, founder of Zurich-based production companies Das Kollektiv and Mons Veneris Films, co-directed the project. Gere’s producing portfolio includes titles such as *“Bruno Manser,”* *“#Female Pleasure,”* *“Guru,”* *“Yalom’s Cure,”* *“Dürrenmatt,”* and *“Wisdom of Happiness.”* He holds membership in both the Swiss Film Academy and the European Film Academy.
