UK Police May Travel to U.S. to Question Prince Andrew’s Accuser’s Relatives

Detectives from Thames Valley Police are preparing to travel to Virginia, United States, to speak with Sky and Amanda Roberts, the brother and sister-in-law of the late Virginia Giuffre. The Roberts family are not considered direct witnesses to the alleged sexual assault of the former Duke of York, but police hope they can provide contextual information about Giuffre’s claims. The visit follows Prince Andrew’s February arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office after the “Epstein files” were released.

Virginia Giuffre, who died by suicide in April 2025 at age 41, alleged that Prince Andrew sexually assaulted her when she was 17 and working for convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In a 2022 civil settlement reportedly worth about £12 million, Andrew agreed to pay Giuffre without admitting liability. The Metropolitan Police interviewed Giuffre in July 2015 but did not open a full investigation, stating there was no allegation of criminal conduct by UK-based citizens and that any trafficking probe would focus on overseas actors.
