Nandi-Ndaitwah Signs China
- President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah signed eight cooperation agreements with China in Beijing on July 10, 2026.
- The agreements, covering energy, minerals, infrastructure, build on China’s $4.2 billion metals investment and purchase of a quarter of Namibia’s exports, 85% uranium, and prompted Namibia to draft a nuclear policy after a visit to China General Nuclear Power Corp.
- Huawei pledged ¥98 million (US$14.4 million) to fund Namibia’s Smart City pilot, supporting AI, infrastructure and skills development until 2036.
