- JAXA completed the first test flight of its reusable rocket RV-X on July 11, 2026, at Noshiro, which landed safely.
- The vehicle rose to 11 metres, moved 16 metres horizontally, and landed in under one minute.
- Co-developed by JAXA and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the 7.3-metre-long rocket features a durable engine that passed 165 combustion tests.
- JAXA will next fly RV-X to about 100 metres after China announced a stage recovery on July 10.
