Core Release Details
“Bisikan Desa Gringsing: Whispers of Fatimah,” a mystery-horror feature, will open in Indonesian cinemas on Sept. 24, 2026, with subsequent releases slated for Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey and Azerbaijan. The film’s first-look video, released by producers Mandela Pictures and Oceanus Media Global (OMG Studios), introduces Hesti (Aghniny Haque) as she confronts the vengeful spirit Fatimah (Fatmah Nadhi) while searching for her missing father. The project is a three-territory co-production involving Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
Technological Innovation
The production is among the first Indonesian horror titles to employ virtual-production technology, using a high-resolution LED volumetric stage rather than traditional green-screen or on-location shoots. Photorealistic digital environments are projected on LED walls in real time to recreate the mist-laden pathways of the cursed village of Desa Gringsing. The virtual-production stage is housed at Iskandar Malaysia Studios (IMS) in Johor, Malaysia, a Khazanah Nasional-backed facility. Support came from Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Studios Film Office (SFO) and Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture.
