Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson will not face a felony charge for the June 8 domestic-violence arrest. The case was transferred to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office and placed in a pre-filing diversion program, an alternative to misdemeanor prosecution. Charges have not been filed, but the matter remains open for the duration of the statute of limitations and could be revisited if new information emerges.

Jackson, 27, was arrested after police responded to his San Fernando Valley home following a verbal dispute in which a woman sustained scratch marks on her arm, according to NBC Los Angeles. The incident follows a November 2023 civil lawsuit alleging Jackson recorded a woman without consent during sex, repeatedly refused to delete the video, and taunted her with it. The lawsuit was dismissed by a federal court on April 10, 2024. Jackson served a two-game NFL suspension in 2024 for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy and signed a three-year, $56.3 million (Field Level Media) / $57 million (ESPN) contract extension before the 2025 season.

Ivor Pine, spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, said the case “has been assigned for a pre-filing diversion available to eligible individuals that is an alternative to misdemeanor criminal prosecution.” He added that “charges are not filed against the respondent at this time, however, the case stays open throughout the length of the statute of limitations. It can be re-evaluated if there are further developments.” The NFL could still impose discipline under its personal-conduct policy.
