Series Overview and Production
Paramount+ is filming the crime-thriller spinoff Franchise King—titled *Frisco King*—in Fort Worth, Texas. The eight-episode series is set in Frisco, Texas, and continues the world introduced in *Tulsa King*, which premiered in 2022 and concluded its third season last fall. Creator Taylor Sheridan wrote all eight season-1 scripts and serves as an executive producer alongside Sylvester Stallone, Samuel L. Jackson, and a slate of producers including David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, and Keith Cox. Voros will direct the pilot, with both Voros and Friedman handling additional episodes.
New Recurring Cast Members
The latest casting announcement adds Tom Pecinka and Arturo Del Puerto in recurring roles. Pecinka will portray Ryland, described as a seasoned, professional businessman who is, in reality, a “party animal.” Pecinka’s résumé includes a Tony Award nomination for his Broadway performance in *Stereophonic*, a Theatre World Award, and screen credits such as *The Survivalist* and the TV series *American Rust*.
Del Puerto joins as Hector, a smart, hard-working, ambitious landscaper hired to tend an upscale property in Frisco. He is known for roles in the Netflix drama *Pulse*, the Apple TV series *For All Mankind*, and the Peacock comedy *Killing It*, as well as appearances on *Camping*, *Fear the Walking Dead*, and *Westworld*.
Creative Team Highlights
Beyond Sheridan’s writing and producing duties, Sylvester Stallone appears on-screen as Mafia leader Dwight “The General” Manfredi, the antagonist who builds a criminal organization after prison release. Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Russell Lee Washington Jr., first introduced in *Tulsa King* season 3, and also serves as an executive producer. Long-time Sheridan collaborators Christina Alexandra Voros and Michael Friedman share directing responsibilities, with Voros helming the series’ pilot.
Future Outlook
Paramount+ has also greenlit a fourth season of *Tulsa King*, but neither *Frisco King* nor *Tulsa King* season 4 has received an official premiere date. The series remains in production, with the added cast members expected to appear when the show launches later this year.
