Isaac Ezban’s “Delivery” Secures Frontières Selection and Pursues Final Funding

Mexican filmmaker Isaac Ezban – known for *The Incident*, *The Similars* and *Párvulos* – is in advanced development on his sixth feature, “Delivery.” The time-travel, sci-fi road movie follows Adán, a truck driver who, after being fired, steals his rig to complete listening to his father’s childhood cassette recordings. Along the way he meets Nokia, a teenager abandoned in a cartel-controlled border town, and the duo’s journey extends from the Mexico-U.S. border into Canada. The screenplay, written by Ezban and Christian Cueva, was presented among 34 projects in the Official Selection of the Frontières International Co-Production Market at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal.

“Delivery” is co-produced by Red Elephant Films (run by Ezban and Miriam Mercado) and Sin Sentido Films (founded by Alejandra Cárdenas and Felicitas Arce). The project is currently 40 % financed and has qualified for Mexico’s Eficine tax incentive, which Ezban credited with moving the film toward reality. The team is actively seeking co-producers to fund the remaining budget, with production slated for the second half of 2027.

Ezban told *Variety* that the screenplay has been in development since 2019 and that “Delivery” is his “most personal project yet” and “the movie that I believe represents me the most.” He emphasized that the film explores “the contrasts of our existence: planning versus spontaneity, routine versus adventure, solitude versus socialization,” using the Mexico-U.S. border as a metaphor for personal boundaries. Ezban also linked the narrative to his longstanding thematic focus on the passage of time.
