Sam Rockwell Leads Star-Studded Revival of *A View From the Bridge* at La MaMa

Oscar winner Sam Rockwell will star as Eddie Carbone and co-produce a 13-week revival of Arthur Miller’s *A View From the Bridge* at the Ellen Stewart Theatre, La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. Previews begin Nov. 27, with opening night on Dec. 13, 2026. The production runs through February 2027.

Neil Pepe directs; the cast includes Marin Ireland as Beatrice and Tony, Olivier and Emmy nominee Alfred Molina as Alfieri. Scenic design is by three-time Tony winner Scott Pask, costumes by Sarah Laux, lighting by John Torres, and sound by two-time Tony nominee Palmer Hefferan. Rockwell produces alongside Mark Berger, with PlayHooky Productions also attached. Baseline Theatrical serves as general manager.

Miller’s tragedy premiered off-Broadway in 1965 at the Sheridan Square Playhouse, starring Robert Duvall and Jon Voight under director Ulu Grosbard. Subsequent notable revivals include a 2010 Broadway run starring Liev Schreiber and Scarlett Johansson, and a 2015-2016 production starring Mark Strong that originated at London’s Young Vic. Rockwell’s last stage role was the 2022 Broadway revival of David Mamet’s *American Buffalo*.

Although the revival is not a La MaMa production, the partnership is intended to “channel meaningful resources back to La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club” and to challenge conventional commercial-nonprofit collaborations. The move brings a high-profile, star-driven commercial show to an off-off-Broadway venue known for experimental work and under-represented artists.
