China Growth Slows
- China’s economy grew 4.3% YoY in Q2 2026, its slowest since Q4 2022 and below the 4.5%-5% target.
- Urban fixed-asset investment fell 5.7% YoY in H1, with Q2 real-estate, infrastructure and manufacturing investment down 18%, 2.4% and 1.2% respectively.
- June exports jumped 27% YoY, creating a $125.62 billion trade surplus and a $32.9 billion surplus with the EU, leading analysts Tianchen Xu and Woei Chen Ho to propose targeted fiscal steps or a rate cut.
