Parallax Films Secures Worldwide Sales for Singapore’s First Wuxia Sci-Fi Feature

Parallax Films has been appointed worldwide sales agent for “The House on the Moon,” a Singaporean wuxia science-fiction feature that will debut in the international competition at the 79th Locarno Film Festival. The company holds exclusive rights in most international territories, with German-speaking regions, Taiwan and Singapore excluded, and retains non-exclusive rights across additional Southeast Asian markets.

“The House on the Moon” blends science fiction with wuxia—the Chinese tradition of martial-arts hero stories—drawing on the myth of moon goddess Chang’e and archer Hou Yi. It marks Singapore’s first wuxia feature film and the nation’s inaugural feature produced using virtual-production technology. Director Nelson Yeo previously broke ground at Locarno in 2023 when his debut, “Dreaming & Dying,” became the first Southeast Asian film to win both the Golden Leopard in the Filmmakers of the Present competition and the festival’s Best First Feature award.
