India, UK Tariff Cuts
- India and the United Kingdom brought CETA into force on July 15, 2026.
- Combined, the U.K. and India cut tariffs on 9,249 of 9,736 lines (96.8%) worth $14,854.2 million (97.7% of trade value) and on 7,747 of 12,090 lines (64.1%) with 21% to be phased out.
- CETA allows Indian firms to set up branches, subsidiaries or offices in the U.K. and to lower prices of British cars and whiskey.
