Rebecca Yarros Announces “Threshing Day,” the Next Empyrean Series Anthology

Author Rebecca Yarros revealed on Wednesday that the forthcoming Empyrean Series installment will be titled Threshing Day. The book is slated for publication on Sept. 29 and will be released in standard, digital, audiobook, and deluxe print editions. The announcement coincided with a reminder that Prime Video has ordered a television adaptation of the series, though no further details about the show were disclosed.

“Threshing Day” is described as an anthology comprising 13 short stories told from the perspectives of cadets rather than the series’ primary protagonist, Violet Sorrengail. Among the contributors is a rider who “knows her better than most,” and the character Xaden will feature in a story titled “Xaden’s Threshing.” The deluxe edition will contain 16 pieces of full-color artwork, offering visual accompaniment to the narratives.
