Senators Launch AI Act

The Homestake AI Act is named after an underground South Dakota lab and inspired by a Gila-monster hormone used in GLP-1 diabetes drugs.
Senators Mike Rounds and Martin Heinrich introduced the Homestake AI Act to collect organisms for an AI disease-cure database.
Sponsor claimed U.S. could cure cancers in two years and Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s in five.
Heinrich said AI would sequence plants, animals and microbes for cancer, diabetes and dementia treatments.
