Seth Green Bids for Role in Upcoming “Dungeon Crawler Carl” Live-Action Series

Peacock ordered a live-action adaptation of Matt Dinniman’s novel *Dungeon Crawler Carl* to series last month. The production is being handled by Dinniman and Seth MacFarlane’s company Fuzzy Door. The official logline, written by Chris Yost (“The Mandalorian”), describes a post-apocalyptic game-show world where “Coast Guard vet Carl… is stuck with his ex-girlfriend’s award-winning show cat, Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk” as they battle monsters, aliens, an “insane A.I.” and other survivors for televised survival.

Actor and voice-artist Seth Green, known for “Family Guy” and “Robot Chicken,” has repeatedly expressed enthusiasm for joining the cast as the mentor character Mordecai. In an interview, Green noted his long-standing familiarity with the books, saying his wife Clare Grant was reading the latest installment, *A Parade of Horribles*, before its Patreon release. He added, “I think I would make a really good Mordecai,” while acknowledging that the series’ casting decisions remain undisclosed. Green emphasized that he does not intend to leverage personal connections with Dinniman or MacFarlane, stating, “I don’t know what their plan is. Nobody’s talked about it.” He suggested that a “thick fan movement” could sway the decision, concluding, “Really, the only thing that could be convincing is like a thick fan movement where people agree collectively that I could play that part.”
