Malmö Dockteater Unveils Explicit Puppetry

Malmö Dockteater, Sweden’s only adult-focused puppet theatre founded in 2015, stages explicit shows exposing the glue, screws and strings moving the puppets.
Its productions have ranged from an existentialist piece with robots and dinosaur heads to a Dante’s Inferno homage built from toilet-paper tubes.
Founder Erik Holmström says puppets avoid the embarrassment of live sex scenes and let the troupe offer a hi-tech, low-budget experimental platform for non-family audiences.
