A Global Pass offers unlimited travel over a chosen number of days within a month (as short as three days up to three months), while One Country Passes focus on a single nation for three to 15 days. Prices start at €212 for a Global Pass and €97 for a four-day Greek Islands Pass; the Benelux Pass begins at €103 for three days, and the Nordic Pass at €164.

All passes exclude mandatory seat-reservation fees for high-speed, night and popular routes, meaning travelers must pay extra to secure a seat. The newly introduced Plus Pass (Beta) eliminates reservation costs on high-speed and popular routes and is currently available on Global Passes as well as on Italian and German rail routes.

Interrail B.V. suggests a two-week free block be spent on a 7-day Global Pass covering Italy and Switzerland, starting in Zurich, then Lucerne, Milan, Florence and beyond.
