Film Announcement

Hidden Empire Film Group and its sports division, Hidden Empire Sports Collective, will produce a feature film chronicling the rise of streetball star Grayson “The Professor” Boucher. Award-winning filmmaker De Deon Taylor, also co-CEO of Hidden Empire, will direct and co-produce the project alongside Roxanne Avent Taylor, Jay Lyons, David Nurse, Jason Pamer and Neil Sacker. The screenplay is written by Brad Gann. Production follows Boucher’s re-engagement with AND1 in early 2026 as brand ambassador and director of talent.

Boucher’s Streetball Legacy

Boucher emerged from Keizer, Oregon, as an undersized college player who earned a spot on the AND1 Mixtape Tour after an open tryout. He performed in more than 50 countries, gaining the nickname “The Professor” for his ability to “school” opponents. Beyond the court, Boucher built a digital brand with over 25 million followers and more than 5 billion organic video views, positioning him as a leading influencer in modern basketball entertainment.

Production Team & Vision

Hidden Empire Sports Collective, recently noted for a documentary on NFL star Cameron “Cam” Heyward and the micro-drama “I am Hoop,” aims to spotlight stories of resilience and cultural impact. The company is represented by CAA. Taylor’s involvement reflects his background as a former professional basketball player and his interest in narratives that highlight underdog triumphs.

Official Statements & Responses

Boucher expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that Taylor’s industry respect and Hidden Empire’s vision aligned with his own journey. Taylor emphasized the film’s focus on the cultural legacy of the AND1 movement and the broader significance of street basketball as a global sport. Both parties framed the project as more than a conventional sports movie, highlighting themes of self-belief and perseverance.
