A GoFundMe page created with the help of Blair’s supervisor collected donations from nearly 6 000 contributors, raising $180,521 in total. Thackeray later delivered a $174,000 check to Blair in person. The funds have been used for medical expenses, a new bed, and to support Blair’s elderly mother.
