NJ DMV Glitch
- A software error at New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle Commission between June 2023 and June 2024 mistakenly registered about 6,600 non-citizens to vote.
- Governor Mikie Sherrill called the glitch a reckless failure and said the state must protect the affected non-citizens.
- Roughly 400 of the improperly registered individuals cast ballots in recent elections.
- The state will remove all 6,600 registrations and phase out vendor Idemia from its systems.
