Eligibility Requirements and Candidate Profile

NASA’s call specifies that applicants must be U.S. citizens aged 30 to 55, no taller than 6 ft 2 in, and hold a degree in science or engineering. Prospective crew members cannot have dietary restrictions, must not be sleepwalkers, and must pass a modified Class III flight physical as well as a comprehensive psychological assessment. These criteria are intended to ensure participants can endure the isolated, water-less, and physically demanding conditions of the simulation.
