He shared a copy of the license with Talking Points Memo (TPM), noting its application date and a January 2026 expiration. Lindell also said he is no longer registered to vote in Texas, though Texas officials have not confirmed the change.

In 2023, Democratic Governor Tim Walz signed a law expanding automatic voter registration in Minnesota, one of 24 states using the system. Under the law, eligible individuals who interact with agencies such as the Department of Motor Vehicles are automatically placed on the voter rolls unless they opt out.
