WEEI Sports Radio to Join SiriusXM Satellite Service

7/23/2026, 12:54:29 PM

Partnership Overview

Audacy, the parent company of Boston’s WEEI (93.7 FM), and SiriusXM announced a partnership that will add WEEI to the satellite radio lineup. The agreement, disclosed on a Tuesday, places WEEI alongside other Audacy stations such as New York’s WFAN on SiriusXM beginning in September, timed for the start of the NFL season. The move does not alter WEEI’s existing presence on its flagship frequency or its regional affiliates throughout New England.

Scope of the Deal

The collaboration brings 42 terrestrial stations from 29 U.S. markets to SiriusXM’s platform. In addition to WEEI, the package includes New York’s WFAN and will feature Red Sox game broadcasts on the WEEI channel within the satellite service. Listeners will be able to access the stations through the SiriusXM mobile app and in any vehicle equipped with a SiriusXM subscription.

Impact on Listeners

By joining SiriusXM, WEEI expands its reach to subscribers who rely on satellite radio for in-car and mobile listening, while preserving its traditional over-the-air audience. Sports fans in regions outside New England will gain direct access to Boston sports coverage, including live Red Sox commentary, without needing a local FM signal.

Official Statements & Responses

Audacy’s leadership described the partnership as a “strategic expansion” that enhances the network’s national footprint. SiriusXM officials highlighted the addition as a way to broaden the variety of sports content available to their subscribers, noting that the timing aligns with heightened demand for live sports during the upcoming football season.

What’s Next

The stations are slated to appear on SiriusXM’s channel lineup in September, coinciding with the opening week of the NFL schedule. Subscribers can expect the new channels to be active on both the SiriusXM app and compatible vehicle receivers at that time.
