Bashir Sentenced
- Manchester Crown Court sentenced Mohammad Bashir, 31, to life with a 17-year minimum for terrorism.
- Bashir drove Jihad Al-Shamie on a 10-hour reconnaissance of UK Defence Academy on 14 August 2025, after which Al-Shamie killed worshippers at Heaton Park synagogue on 2 October 2025 before police shot him dead.
- Prosecutors presented WhatsApp chats and mosque CCTV showing violent jihad discussions, prompting Police chief Stephen Watson to apologise for an intelligence failure.
