Musician Devon Allman, son of Southern-rock legend Gregg Allman, has been cast in a recurring role for AMC’s upcoming NASCAR-themed series Thunder Road. He will portray Jimmy Fuchs, described as a “silver-tongued Southern operator” whose charm masks underlying danger. The series, created by John Fusco, is slated to begin production this summer and is scheduled to debut on AMC and AMC+ in 2027.
Series Premise and Production
“Thunder Road” follows the fictional Whitlock family, a multigenerational stock-car racing dynasty rooted in the Southern hill country. Dennis Quaid leads the cast as Duane Whitlock, a racing legend known as “The Wrecking Ball,” who strives to preserve his empire amid ruthless competitors. Other cast members include Chase Stokes, Michael Rooker, Matt Barr, Maggie Grace and West Duchovny. Executive producers include John Fusco, showrunner Taylor Elmore, Cliff Roberts, Mark L. Smith, and NASCAR Studio’s Tim Clark and John Dahl, with Gladys Cheng as producer. The production is a collaboration with NASCAR.
