Career Overview and Milestones
Tynan joined 6abc (WPVI-TV) in 1995 as a weekend weather anchor and reporter, becoming chief meteorologist in 2009—the market’s first female in that role. Over a 35-year tenure she anchored the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts, hosted “Primetime Weekend,” and contributed to national ABC News segments. Her on-air coverage includes Hurricane Sandy, the Blizzard of 1996, Hurricane Ida, and numerous heat-wave and tornado events.
