Giants Keep Malik Nabers Off PUP List, Signaling Gradual Return

A source told ESPN that wide receiver Malik Nabers will not begin training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, marking a step forward after his season-ending knee injury last year. The Giants placed defensive linemen Roy Robertson-Harris, Sam Roberts and tight end Thomas Fidone II on the PUP list, while rookies and quarterbacks reported earlier in the week. Coach John Harbaugh said the team will “ramp him up gradually” and that Nabers’ progress will be evaluated as camp proceeds.

One-year deal players such as Calvin Austin and Darnell Mooney are also in the mix, creating a “major transition” for the unit. The gradual reintegration of Nabers could shape the Giants’ offensive strategy heading into the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
