Series Evolution and Adaptation
The show premiered in 2022 as a modern adaptation of Rice’s 1976 novel *Interview With the Vampire*. For its third season, the series was rebranded *The Vampire Lestat* to reflect the shift in focus to the second novel, which follows the titular vampire’s rise to rock-star fame. The fourth season will continue the literary progression by adapting *Queen of the Damned*, the third book, which centers on the ancient vampire Akasha and her bid for world domination.
Creative Team and Cast
Executive producers Mark Johnson and Hannah Moscovitch returned to the panel, joined by cast members Jacob Anderson (Louis de Pointe du Lac), Sam Reid (Lestat de Lioncourt), Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, and Sheila Atim (Akasha). Hannah Moscovitch, who wrote for the first two seasons and served as an executive producer on season three, will assume the showrunner role for season four. Rolin Jones, who was showrunner for season three, will remain an executive producer but will not lead the fourth season.
