Inis Records Launches as Irish-Focused Indie Label

Irish drummer Tom Coll, best known as a member of Fontaines D.C., has co-founded Inis Records with Michael Roe—drummer of the former math-rock band Adebisi Shank and co-founder of the Richter Collective—and Ken Allen of Faction Records. The venture operates as both an independent label and an online record store that will stock only Irish music across eras and genres.

Purpose and Planned Releases

The first release will be a new vinyl edition of *Against Nature*, the out-of-print 1989 debut by Cork art-rock group The Fatima Mansions. Later in the year, Inis plans a traditional Irish music compilation curated by Coll and a showband collection assembled by Charles Hendy of The Mary Wallopers. The store already lists titles by Fontaines D.C., Gilla Band, Just Mustard, Gurriers, Enya, John Francis Flynn and Bicep, among others.

Official Statements from Founders

Allen’s involvement brings the experience of Faction Records, whose roster has included James Vincent McMorrow, Sorcha Richardson and Niamh Regan.

Related Activities of Fontaines D.C.

Beyond the label, Coll and bandmate Carlos O’Connell are contributing to the second album of French indie group Film Noir and have supplied original music for the *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man* soundtrack. The band is also preparing a follow-up to their 2024 album *Romance* and plans to debut new material during summer festival dates, including headline slots at Reading & Leeds and Electric Picnic.
