He will retain former athletic-director perks, including eligibility for Michigan game tickets and golf privileges. The agreement stipulates that Manuel’s personnel record will list a resignation, and he will remain employed by the university until he voluntarily resigns later in the year. He is barred from serving as an athletic director or senior athletic adviser at any Big Ten institution for two years after his resignation, though employment outside the conference carries no penalty.
