Zendaya’s Black Satin Gown Marks the Finale of the “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” Press Tour

At the Los Angeles premiere of *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*—the final major stop of the film’s international press tour—Zendaya arrived in a black satin corset dress by Ashi Studio. The garment features a deep plunging neckline, sculpted skirt with an asymmetrical train, and antenna-like protrusions meant to evoke a spider’s pedipalps. She completed the look with Art Deco-inspired Boucheron diamond earrings, pointed black heels, and a miniature black spider attached to her left toe.

Ashi Studio disclosed on Instagram that the gown was created for its Fall 2026 collection and required more than 200 hours of hand-crafting. The dress, originally slated for runway debut, was first fitted for Zendaya in June, weeks before the film’s Los Angeles showing. The stylistic concept includes a “metamorphosis” motif, turning the wearer into a spider-like figure.

Law Roach, Zendaya’s longtime stylist, explained that the look is an abstract interpretation of a spider, describing it as a transformation of the wearer into the creature. Throughout the ten-stop tour, the duo have presented a range of arachnid-inspired outfits, from a diamond-encrusted spider-web gown to a graphic Spider-Man T-shirt. At the Shanghai stop, the team sourced an archival spider brooch valued at $158,000, noted as being six years older than Zendaya herself. Makeup artist Ernesto Casillas used Prada Beauty products—including Dimensions Eyeshadow in Profusion + Primula, Reflection Glossy Balm Universal, and Prada Balm in Universal Green—for the Los Angeles appearance.
