Ozlo Unveils Sleepbuds 2, Upgrading Bose-Derived Sleep Earbuds

7/29/2026, 11:33:17 AM

Launch Details and New Features

Ozlo announced the Sleepbuds 2 on Tuesday, pricing the updated earbuds at $279—a $30 increase over the original model, which launched at $249 and carried an MSRP of $349. The company highlights a longer battery life of roughly 14 hours per charge, compared with about 10 hours on the first version, and a charging case that can sustain two to three nights of use. New hardware includes a redesigned antenna for a more reliable Bluetooth connection, a built-in amplifier for clearer sound masking, and a dedicated button that lets users play a sleep sound or snooze the alarm without reaching for their phone.

Background and Founders

The original Sleepbuds entered the market in late 2024 to fill the gap left when Bose exited the sleep-earbud category the year before. Ozlo’s co-founders—N.B. Patil, Brian Mulcahey, and Charlie Taylor—were former Bose engineers who helped develop the initial product. They acquired and licensed the Sleepbuds research and intellectual property, turning the first Ozlo device into a direct continuation of Bose’s earlier effort. The initial release attracted more than 200,000 customers, who praised the low-profile design for comfort, especially among side sleepers.

Technical Enhancements and Specs

Beyond battery and connectivity upgrades, the Sleepbuds 2 introduce personalized sound tuning for “Spoken Word,” “Airplane,” “Focus,” and “Balanced” modes. A new Sleep Shield feature blocks incoming calls, alerts, notifications, and Bluetooth audio streaming unless the user has already enabled their phone’s built-in sleep focus mode. The earbuds’ biometrics now monitor breathing and movement, while the case tracks ambient sound levels, light, and temperature, providing users with richer sleep-environment data. Each package includes four silicone ear-tip sizes, a USB-C charging cable, and, for a limited time, a complimentary sleep mask and travel case.

Company Vision and Market Position

Ozlo says the launch is a step toward a broader sleep-data platform. In a recent interview at the Consumer Electronics Show, the company outlined plans to apply AI for deeper interpretation of sleep patterns and to develop an AI “sleep buddy” that can converse with users about their data. A co-branded case with Calm, released last year, already offers a year-long subscription to Calm’s library of sleep sounds and stories, underscoring Ozlo’s strategy to integrate third-party content.

What’s Next

Looking ahead, Ozlo intends to expand its AI capabilities and continue building a unified sleep ecosystem, though no specific rollout dates have been announced. The Sleepbuds 2 serve as both a product upgrade and a platform foundation for those future developments.
